As at 12pm, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) ad-hoc staff and presiding Officers assigned with the responsibilities of conducting the Chairmanship and Councillorship elections are yet to commence accreditation of the electorates in some of the polling units in Itire-Ikate, Ogunlana drive, Marshal, Ojuelegba and Mushin axis of Lagos.
The delay which in an earlier report by Heraldnewsmagazine was accounted to the early morning rainfall which created a few scenes of flooding as some houses and polling units accredited by LASIEC were flooded with waters.
However, there appears to be an element of hope as voters are gradually trooping out in bit, trying to defy the downpour as the sky still remain clouded. ---- 12:06pm

The turn out for today's Lagos State Local Government elections into the Chairmanship and Councillorship positions appears to be having some slight delay due to the early morning rainfall that have caused some flooding.
A routin check by Heraldnewsmagazine in some areas such as Mushin, Itire, Lawanson, Ijesha and Okota witnessed a delay arrival of members of the ad-hoc staff and presiding officers assigned by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) at their respective polling units.
This could be due to the rainfall that greeted today's election couple with the fact that some of the sensitive materials needed for the smooth conduct arrived this morning.
So far, the turn out by the electorates in some of the polling units that are ready doesn't seem impressive as different party agents are seen canvassing for votes, moving from one neighbourhood to another.
Meanwhile, in the area of security, the police force were seen parading some of the polling units and streets in the afformentioned areas in a bid to ensure safety of lives and properties.
